About this print:
The Titans of the Ring are a group of male and female wrestlers that perform each Sunday to a large audience at El Alto's Multifunctional Centre. The female wrestlers or "Las Luchadoras" also known as The Fighting Cholitas are particularly infamous.
Like much of the general population of El Alto, the Cholitas are indigenous, and wear braided hair, bowler hats and multilayered skirts while they wrestle. As luchadoras, they are the heroes of the ring, fighting for and representing greater equality for Bolvian Cholitas, against their villainous male counterparts, such as this representation of Frankenstein's monster.
